Cisco’s New IoT Specializations Designed to Help Partners’ Capture Multi-Trillion Dollar IoE Opportunity
Submitted by Steve Benvenuto on
Earlier this year at Partner Summit, Cisco announced its commitment to helping our partners capture a share of the $14.4 trillion opportunity to be created over the next decade by “connecting the unconnected” through the Internet of Everything (IoE).
IoE creates unprecedented opportunities for organizations, individuals, communities and countries to realize dramatically greater value from networked connections among people processes, data and things.
Within the IoE opportunity is the Internet of Things (IoT). While the IoE includes the connection of both people and objects, IoT refers only to the networked connection of physical objects. Cisco estimates that 99.4 percent of physical objects that may one day be part of the IoE are still unconnected, creating a massive opportunity for the Cisco Partner Ecosystem.
To build on our commitment, we are excited to announce the launch of three new IoT Specializations specifically designed to help partners leverage the amazing IoT opportunity:
- Connected Safety and Security
- Industry Expert
- Manufacturing (launching November 18, 2014)
Both Cisco resale partners and operational technology (OT) partners can leverage the tools and trainings within these specializations, focused on key vertical markets. Through the specializations, partners will improve customer relevancy, help build critical skills, and learn more about Cisco technologies that enable creation of powerful vertical market solutions.
Cisco will introduce additional IoT Specializations during the first half of 2015 to support new products and solutions.
Partners can learn more about Cisco’s three new IoT Specializations and take the first step toward leveraging the remarkable IoT opportunity by registering for and participating in an upcoming webcast:
- November 12 - Americas and EMEAR
- November 13 - APJ and GC
Be sure to let me know what you think of these latest specializations in the comments section below. Your feedback is a vital part of our ongoing commitment to listening to and learning from our partners.
