Assessment Of Leading MSSPs Yields Keys To Success

Managed security services providers must get better at helping clients derive business value out of their security investments rather than focusing too heavily on technical challenges, according to a new Forrester report that identifies the top MSSP performers. Most large organizations have already outsourced security, according to the report, but the SMB market is underserved leaving plenty of room for smaller, regional MSSPs to seize the growth opportunity, Ed Ferrara, principal analyst at the Cambridge, Mass.-based research firm. "These companies are recognizing that antivirus is not the only solution and they need technology and processes improvements to protect themselves," Ferrara said in an interview with CRN. Forrester's assessment of more than a dozen MSSPs identified their strongest differentiators and revealed ways that regional MSSPs can build a stronger practice.
