Survey Identifies Security Technology Favorites
The collateral damage caused by nation state attackers, the disruption caused by cyber terrorists and targeted attacks aiming to gain access to precious intellectual property is keeping senior-level IT executives up at night, according to a new Ponemon Institute survey of more than 1,000 IT executives and security practitioners. The study, sponsored by defense contractor Raytheon, found one of the chief concerns are the increasingly sophisticated threats designed to remain stealthy on corporate systems for months and sometimes years. Compounding the problem is the lack of IT personnel with security skills and the lack of control and visibility over corporate data uploaded and stored in cloud-based services. These top 10 security technologies were recognized by survey respondents as the most critical components to the organization’s security program.
