Now that Electrion Day is here, solution providers are hoping a new administration will lead the nation toward positive developments.
Compugen President Harry Zarek would like to see more politicians from both parties reaching across the aisle.
“There is honor in compromise. You know, we in business do it all the time to try to get to the right solution that makes sense. If we could get the politicians to understand that coming to a middle-of-the-road solution is in the interests of everybody rather than making a very polemic ‘my way or no way’ [strategy],” Zarek said.
Jhovanny Rodriquez, co-founder and vice president of Synetek Solutions and Greenlink Networks, would like a leader who listens to the American people and takes action.
“I think the best-case scenario is that either one of the candidates, or the winning candidate, has heard the will of the people in terms of some of the things that are very concerning, and some of those things get applied into policy and reform,” he said.
Mark Brown, sales and business development at Datapipe, said expecting change in government within two to four years is unrealistic.
“The real challenges we have are generational – education, infrastructure improvement,” he said.
iCorps co-founder, President and CEO Michael Hadley agreed.
“We need to really focus on education,” he said. “We have a problem in the United States with talented people and hiring, so what I’d like to see out of [the election] is just focusing on education, K-12, and higher education.”
