A $14 Trillion Opportunity
Global management, consulting, technology services and outsourcing firm Accenture recently released a report estimating that the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) could add $14.2 trillion to the global economy by 2030 – and about half of that growth will happen in the United States.
The IIoT is a network of physical objects, systems, platforms and applications that contain embedded technology to communicate and share intelligence with each other, the external environment and with people. Accenture dives into several areas including whether businesses and CEOs are ready for the change, and how businesses and government must intensify their efforts and escalate investments.
Here are some of the takeaways from the 12-page report.
