Are Big IT Vendors Leading OpenStack In The Right Direction?

Solution providers will be happy to hear that 80 percent of respondents believe the big IT vendors are leading OpenStack in the right direction. Approximately 12 percent believe otherwise, while the remaining 8 percent are unsure.

"I have doubts that the big IT vendors are doing more harm than good (generally speaking)," said one respondent.

"Most are looking to complement the vanilla DevStack (the script that creates an OpenStack development environment) with proprietary bits rather than contribute upstream and remain distinctive based on internal knowledge and acceleration," another respondent said.
