From Hardware To The Cloud
Cloud-based unified communications is turning around the voice market. Traditional VARs selling phone systems have had to rethink their selling strategies as cloud-based private branch exchanges (PBXs) and softphone clients began to flood the market, causing business customers to reconsider their options for voice services.
BizPhones4u is a Tampa, Fla.-based telecom solution provider led by Darr Palmer (pictured). Palmer, a 40-year telecom veteran, founded the company in 2003, focusing on IT services. In 2012, he began focusing exclusively on telephony solutions. Palmer said that since 2004, BizPhones4u has only installed a half dozen true analog phone products. Once Palmer selected a reliable, channel-friendly cloud UC provider, BizPhones4u has been cleaning up with cloud-based voice solutions.
In this interview with IT Best Of Breed, Palmer talks about how the pendulum is swinging in favor of cloud-based services and away from hardware, and how his business has tripled its growth thanks to cloud UC.
