Started by executives with a history in the anti-virus market, KnowBe4 launched in 2010 into the end user security awareness space, looking to address the insider threat problem. One of the more popular enterprise offerings in the space, KnowBe4 offers a 30-minute interactive training course for employees to educate them on security issues they might face, then follows up the training with simulated phishing attacks. In doing that, CEO Stu Sjouwerman said KnowBe4 aims to combat the insider threat problem by keeping employees on their toes and thinking with a security-first mindset.

“If you are looking for the best bang for your budget buck, then effective security awareness training is one of, by far, the best ways to get great security ROI,” Sjouwerman said at the time.
