Tinker On How VARs Can Help Adapt To The Mobile World

Are you seeing this with MobileIron's channel partners?
What we see inside our channel partners, is that in order to help customers be successful in the post-PC economy, in the mobile-first world, they're assembling best of breed technology partners, like MobileIron for mobile security, devices from Apple, Google and Microsoft, third-party apps from small and large companies, like Box or ServiceNow, and assembling those into a solution for customers to run their business.
What are the best services channel partners can offer to customers transitioning to mobile?
We see our customers make the transition to mobile in phases. It usually starts with enabling email and device choice, and then it goes to enabling mobile applications to transform business, and then enabling access to content to drive collaboration.
For channel partners, helping customers through that journey involves being their trusted advisor, providing the consulting and advisory services to help customers make that transition to mobility, and then working with vendors to provide a security architecture to help customers feel safe.
How does the wearables market fit into this new 'mobile-first' world?
We've seen the explosion of smartphones and the explosion of tablets, now we're seeing things like wearables and Internet of Things starting to show up. I think the first phase, which is what we hear from customers, is that they want to secure enterprise data going out to wearables.
When it comes to the Internet of Things, that is a really broad space covering everything from refirdgerators and washing machines to very high-value enterprise infrastructure, so I think customers are just starting sticking their toes into the water in IoT.
