Samsung Arms Partners with Tab ProS for the 2-in-1 Revolution
Submitted by Samsung Channel on
In the game of business productivity, mobility isn’t enough. True productivity comes from a combination of software and applications, a lightweight form factor and long battery life. Businesses want more out of their mobile devices than mere connectivity, which is driving the increasing adoption of 2-in-1 devices. Tablets and smartphones offer business users a tremendous platform for information consumption. Productivity, though, requires multiple interfaces beyond a touch screen — namely, keyboards and styluses. The growing demand for 2-in-1 devices is behind Samsung’s introduction of the Tab Pro S.
The Galaxy Tab Pro S, sold through the B2B partners, runs Windows 10 Professional and features Intel’s powerful, cool-running, sixth-generation Core M processor. The device features a 12-inch touch screen, which leverages best-in-class FHD+ Super AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display technology. With the touch-detection layer integrated into the screen, instead of layered on top, the Tab Pro S delivers the crisp, clean visual experience demanded by professional users.
Also, the Samsung device is deceptively light for its size, weighing in at just 1.8 pounds. At just a quarter-inch thin, the Tab Pro S is as slim as it gets for a fully loaded Windows 10 Pro 2-in-1. In fact, the Tab Pro S is slimmer and lighter than similar devices running Windows 10 or alternative operating systems.
The fanless chip design means the Galaxy Tab Pro S runs quiet and cool, yet still handles the toughest, resource-intensive workloads with ease. The 2-in-1 can function either as a stand-alone tablet or as a laptop with the full-size keyboard attached. Maximum battery life is 10-plus hours, and users can charge the device from empty to full in just 2.5 hours. The Tab Pro S sports 4 GB of onboard memory and 128 GB of internal storage.
A key differentiator of the Tab Pro S is the keyboard, which can be attached magnetically. This feature has become a staple of the user experience and driver of productivity, as the user doesn’t have to deal with kludgy virtual keyboards. Whereas the keyboard is an add-on accessory with many competitive devices, it comes standard with the Tab Pro S.
The importance of Windows 10 to the Tab Pro S value proposition can’t be understated. Microsoft worked closely with Samsung in the development of the Tab Pro S, and this is the first Samsung Galaxy device to run the operating system. With the professional version of Windows 10, users will have the same experience they have with their desktops and notebook PCs. And, unlike other operating systems that run versions of Microsoft Office and other business applications, the Tab Pro S is capable of running any Windows-compatible software.
Samsung channel partners are perfectly positioned to take advantage of 2-in-1 PC adoption. Unlike some vendors that restrict channels for their hybrid PCs, Samsung is making the Tab Pro S available for resale to all authorized partners. Samsung is also providing partners with Tab Pro S incentive programs, including demonstration units, which will be available to select solution providers. The sourcing infrastructure is already in place to ensure that partners have access to the Tab Pro S, which will be available to partners through leading distributors, including D&H Distributing, Ingram Micro, Synnex and Tech Data.
As the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile-computing products, Samsung offers solution providers a full range of warranty, tech support, strategy and demand-generation services. Turning more mobile-device engagements into profitable sales and recurring-revenue service opportunities has never been easier.
While the Tab Pro S is available in only the one configuration — with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage — Samsung plans to introduce more variations to meet the diverse needs of different business users. In the meantime, the Tab Pro S gives Samsung partners the opportunity to demonstrate the power and capabilities of 2-in-1 devices built on the proven and reliable Galaxy tablet platform.
