The IoT Development Kit

This week, sensor specialist InvenSense launched a development kit, FirefFy, a sensor prototyping and development platform for IoT applications. Developers are able to select and evaluate the FireFly-embedded features, such as activity tracking, to allow quick design.

Alongside FireFly, the San Jose, Calif.-based vendor also announced a new graphical development tool, SensorStudio, to ease development and programming of sensors and algorithms.

"As the Internet of Things ecosystem continues to grow, companies increasingly will look to platforms and services that help them manage and analyze the streams of data coming from connected cars, thermostats and smartwatches," said Eitan Medina, vice president of marketing and product management at InvenSense, in a statement.  "Sensors will play a pivotal role in this growth, as they are responsible for gathering and outputting valuable data."
