A Big Year For SD-WAN?
How much of a dent will the software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) make in business this year? Apparently, it's already making one, with nearly half of organizations in the U.S. and United Kingdom either running or piloting one, according to UK-based Teneo, an integrator of storage, security and next-generation network technologies.
Teneo surveyed 400 CIOs in the U.S. and U.K. whose organizations average at least 400 global locations. Scott Gibson (pictured), senior vice president of sales for Teneo's Americas operations, sees the activity around SD-WAN as "mind boggling." Here, we highlight two of the key results and talked with Gibson about them and what it means for corporate IT and channel partners. (The interview was edited for brevity and clarity.)
