Gen Y Wants To Be Its Own Boss
According to the experts, millennials have a different take on what it means to be a full-time worker in the 21st century. They’re not only more plugged-in and tech-savvy – they’re entrepreneurial and looking to take charge.
Leeby said some may peg younger workers as less loyal or flighty, but he said he doesn’t believe that’s the case.
“They want to be in command of their own careers,” he said. “To me, the freelancer model fits really well into the future. Maybe it’s not about a full-time job, but more about becoming a freelancer and being your own boss.”
If businesses want to stay up to date, experts say solution providers will have to make sure they’re appealing to the millennial workforce.
