Respondents made clear in the 2015 report that the benefits of using the cloud are increasing in almost every measurable category.

The top three benefits — scalability, faster access to infrastructure, and availability — are the same as they were the previous year, but each attribute was cited by more respondents in 2015.

"In addition, the 2015 survey echoes a key finding of the 2014 State of the Cloud Report:
cloud maturity matters. As organizations adopt cloud more broadly, they realize increasingly more value, and the challenges of adopting cloud decline," RightScale noted.

Financial benefits were cited by more respondents in 2015 as well. Moving CapEx to OpEx, staff efficiency and cost savings all rose as perceived benefits of the cloud.
