The Interop ITX survey, released in February, said solution providers with DevOps practices have about a one-in-four chance of landing some consulting work this year, the survey uncovered, as 26 percent of respondents indicated they would engage a consulting firm with a DevOps practice in 2017.
What expertise would clients want? Based on the results of its survey, Quali suggested several best practices for businesses to overcome DevOps roadblocks. Here are four:
- Building a collaborative culture with shared goals;
- Including modeling for legacy applications and infrastructure;
- Training teams, standardizing processes and establishing common operational procedures; and
- Early factoring in of application architecture changes based on on-prem, cloud and containers.
