Samsung Shines Among Android Activators
The trend report found that in 2014, Samsung increased its share in the SMB market to 16.7 percent, up from 14.9 percent at the end of 2013.
Apple devices, meanwhile, took 68 percent of the activations in Intermedia's network. Levine highlighted that, out of all smartphone vendors supporting Android's operating systems, Samsung rose above the rest.
"I think if administrators are looking for one Android device to support, it would be Samsung," said Levine. "By supporting Apple and Samsung, you're getting 85 percent of the market."
Meanwhile, Samsung's success has been eating into the activations of other Android devices, such as Nokia, LG, HTC and Motorola, according to the report.
