Forrester's Ferrara said many MSSPs and other security solution providers are still focused on technical issues and challenges of security. MSSPs that differentiate themselves by helping chief security officers or chief information officers build a strong business case for their service, Ferrara said. The goal is to provide data protection while reducing costs by making risk-based decisions. The Forrester report noted IBM as excelling in helping clients derive business value from security investments. It noted SilverSky, Solutionary and Trustwave for understanding their clients' business requirements.
