Q&A: IBM's Dupaquier On x86, SoftLayer And Moving Partners Up The Stack
Submitted by Sarah Kuranda and Jennifer Follett on
With the push toward Watson and some of these other technologies, is there a new type of partner that you are trying to find? Can you talk about that?
Yes. There is two big things. We have been stretched this year so far with IBM. We created the Watson group in January. We also announced this summer the Apple alliance to sell mobility solutions in enterprise. Every time, we had to figure out what this means for business partner. Watson is relatively simple, visible. It's largely targeting the ISVs. Watson is first and foremost an engine, it's the ability to process a ton of data. We welcome the ISVs. We give them availability to the code. They can write Watson applications and one day will be able to sell Watson applications.
