The top barriers to DevOps adoption are a lack of demand from the business (cited by 33 percent of respondents), insufficient expertise (31 percent), and other technology or business priorities (29 percent). Additionally, 24 percent cite a lack of resources to evaluate DevOps, and 24 percent say there aren't enough resources to implement it.

"Clearly, these results indicate that without support from the business or top leadership – and without adequate IT training – IT doesn't feel comfortable trying DevOps on their own," the report said.
