One of the most common reasons for a slow loading time is the presence of massive or uncompressed images on the homepage, Hopkins said. The number of HTTP calls needed from your site to a server during the initial page load is directly correlated with load times.
A website that isn't using compressed images is considered bloated, according to Hopkins.
