Infrastructure Remains An Impediment
CIOs have indicated that they are trying to break away from managing and maintaining existing infrastructure and free up time to focus on supporting business strategy and LOB needs.
Almost half of the CIOs surveyed said they want the majority of their IT services to be provided or managed by an external service provider, while just 3 percent want all services to be kept in-house.
However, less than a quarter of the surveyed companies have actually transferred most of their IT services to external providers. Ninety five percent of companies, though, have at least a portion of their IT services provided or managed externally.
