Educate users

Your users are busy trying to stay on top of a seemingly endless list of priorities. They’re sharing information with others outside the organization, working from home or the road, and uploading company data to cloud storage sites to download it to their own smartphones and tablets. All too often, however, users are unaware how these situations can put sensitive company data at risk. Keeping your organization’s workforce educated about best security practices can go a long way toward reducing data leakage. The larger the company, however, the more challenging your education and awareness task can be. Whenever there’s a large company gathering, such as an annual sales team meeting, set aside time for Internet security updates. Remind team members of the company’s data security policies, especially in relation to mobile data access and sharing.
