Based on the results of the study, what are the key takeaways that spell opportunity for the channel?
The key … that we are seeing from this report is being able to knit [disparate tools] together into a unified experience, and not a patchwork quilt of tools that a user has to be a collaboration expert to use … We need to be able to bring together off-the-shelf collaboration tools and services and integrate them into everyday business processes -- like integrating Cisco's Spark with Salesforce … so organizations have a single, unified user experience. Another key is helping to create a strategy around collaboration.
We see [integration] as being a massive market opportunity for not only ourselves but the partner ecosystem. This is a market that's about accelerating our clients' business return, and if we fail to do that, as partners, we will be marginalized in this market and we will see eroding revenues in this space. If we can unlock business benefits or business outcomes and drive return, it means a very strong future for the collaboration market.
