CFB Strategies originally built, coded and designed its own proprietary database, Anderson said, but quickly realized it would be impossible to scale given the amount of work needed to get each political client up.
That all changed, though, once Salesforce allowed CFB to build its own proprietary system on top of the vendor's cloud-based, scalable infrastructure. Anderson said the company paid Salesforce a royalty for the license, enabling it manage everything on its own.
"You could see the potential it had to grow," he said.
