Social media has proven to be exponentially more important in the 2016 election cycle than it was four years ago, Anderson said.
"Trump has obviously been a master of Twitter," he noted.
Although social media up to this point has been focused primarily on messaging and driving grassroots engagement, Anderson expects the impact in future election cycles to be more on fundraising, with a lot more small-dollar fundraising taking place on Twitter and other social networks.
Anderson also expects to see campaigns use Snapchat and Instagram more, in an effort to come up with something creative that people enjoy participating in.
