The Payoffs Of A Partner’s PBX-To-Hosted-Voice Migration

When it comes to voice services, why is planning a deployment as important as the implementation process?
Without a thorough planning process before rolling out a deployment, a solution provider runs the risk of accidently canceling lines the customer still needs, such as a fax line. Gregoire believes it's better to have a successful implementation through planning in order to prevent mistakes, rather than fix mistakes after the fact. It can also help encourage businesses to make the move onto a new system if they’re assured there won't be service disruptions, he said.
In the case of A.T. Cross, ACE was able to help eliminate lines Cross wasn't expected to eliminate, Gregoire said.
"We found copper lines that ended up that they didn’t need … and we discovered a lot of lines that they weren't using on their phone bill that they didn’t know they were paying for," he said.
After ACE is finished with billing credits and pro-rated charges and adjustments, it expects A.T. Cross to see a 25-to-30 percent reduction in voice costs and operational savings, he added.
