"Just like you're going to appreciate everyone's unique light, you need to be you," stressed Dawson. "It's who you are, so embrace yourself, but more importantly realize that people are watching you."

Dawson said every time she is critiqued in various ways, she has to remind herself that she is also being watched by other women, and the way she reacts to criticism will also make a difference to these women.

Dawson shared an experience when she was told she was speaking too loudly and "lowering her profile," but realized that she was a role model to other women, and had to be true to herself in order to make a difference to them.
